The smallest excavator class, used where a full-size machine cannot physically work — inside compounds, between buildings, on suspended slabs, or anywhere the ground bearing capacity is limited. Short tail-swing variants let the machine rotate within its own track width, which matters when there is a wall or a live carriageway a metre away.
